K3NHC Goals and Objectives

1. To help every member obtain their FCC Amateur Radio Operators License.

 

2. To involve as many students from the Junior and Senior High and maintain our "Largest in the  USA" status.

 

3. To frequently communicate with other local and foreign Amateur Radio operators

 

4. To fulfill our obligation to the district by maintaining computers and radio equipment for operating the advertising scoreboard at Martorelli Stadium for every district related event.

 

5. To have Members participate in various fundraising activities to accomplish the aggressive objectives of the club.

 

6. To maintain and improve radio equipment at the hilltop for recreation and for use in the event of an emergency.

 

7 To provide current FCC licensed students with radio equipment to take home (borrow) and use.

 

8. To travel to Conventions, Hamfests and Computer Shows to purchase supplies and to enrich the knowledge and fellowship of the hobby.

 

9. To compete in various Amateur Radio competitions and improve on our "National High School 4th Place" finish in the February 2002 "School Club Roundup"

 

10. To provide trained radio volunteers for various public services (Large events at Martorelli, NOAA Skywarn, City of Pittsburgh Great Race, UPMC Pittsburgh Marathon, Vintage Grand Prix, RACES (Radio Affiliated Civil Emergency Service, and ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service).

 

11. Maintaining membership of the club in the ARRL (American Radio Relay League) by having at least 50% of it's voting members as licensed operators who also are ARRL individual members.

 

12. Maintain membership of the individuals of the club in the "North Hills Amateur Radio Club" (W3EXW) (An ARRL Affiliated local club) and supporting it's various duties and functions
